There are things to set right from the start. First, horror movie isn’t my cup of tea. Moreover ghost horror movie (gore / slasher genre works better for me). Secondly, the movie comes under my radar after I saw (via Pevita Pearce IG) the movie poster with clear text Chelsea Islan and Pevita Pearce. Em-em. Two of top Indonesia
hot talented celebrities. On these basis, the review is a little bit about the movie and discussing those hot talented celebrities for the rest of the review.
The movie is about a person ask for wealth with the devil, becoming rich, the devil asks for the payment, the person try to avoid/fight the devil and in the end the family pay for the person. Nothing new, standard sell my soul to devil kinda plot. Most point of view is from the other family member but sometime from the person itself. The evil side is ‘standard western devil’ symbolized by goat, pentagram, undead and voodoo doll. More or less, the movie resemble Pengabdi Setan with much clearer plot (hence eliminate questions whether the movie is so mysterious or the plot has to much holes in it).
Enough about the movie, now we come to important part. Chelsea and Pevita! They play against each other in the movie. Unfortunately for Pevita’s fans, Chelsea got more screen time compared to Pevita. The
hot talented actresses’ fans will rather disappointed since they not shows up that much. Well perhaps at about 50-60% screen time. Not reaching 75-85%. The expectation were rather high, that both of them will dominate the screen with their close up shot. But no. The movie is still hold some of its sanity.
Pevita who plays as a bitchy character need more exploration. It’s bad since Pevita has the whole package to be a ‘seductive bitch’. Face (lips!!!!), body and smile (more lips!!!!)….. Reminds me of Sarah Michelle Gellar in Cruel Intentions (1999). Only Pevita is better. Only the role should have been better. *sigh* Okay. Get over it.
Meanwhile, Chelsea with her innocent look get a more pronounce part for her more screen time. Chelsea’s fans definitely get a better satisfaction than Pevita’s. It’s rather strange watching Chelsea with her cute look pickpockets. Unless that, it is glorious. Can you imagine, cute Chelsea, half in fear half desperate, screaming while stabbing the enemy. OMG. You can stab me any time of the year girl.

Not bad. Not good. Nothing new. Not classic either (‘Indonesian ghost’ is considered classic). Overall, it’s okay. Could be worse.

Good job! It would be better if Chelsea has more screen time!

Pevita is good. But she should have more screen time. And a lot bitchy.
Chelsea vs Pevita

We expected more fierce rivalry from the girls. The cute vs the bitchy. I believe the story would be better and there will be more reason to show them on screen. Well, the second one is more important.
